Completed post-graduate studies at the Chamber of Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics of the Law Faculty of Yerevan State University.

Defended Ph.D thesis (“Independence of judges in the Republic of Armenia: procedural and organizational safeguards”, in Russian) at the Scientific Council of Yerevan State University and was awarded the scientific degree of Ph.D in Law.

 

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY

2000 - 2005

Council of Court Chairmen (CCC) of the Republic of Armenia, Cassation Court of the Republic of Armenia

 

Legal Adviser of the Judicial Training Center (2000-2003), then (starting 2003) – Senior Legal Adviser to the CCC, then (in 2005) – Senior Specialist of the Department of Legal Expertise). Also was responsible for International Relations of the Judiciary (2005), developed Anti-corruption Plan of Armenian Judiciary and coordinated the monitoring of its implementation, as well as the activities of establishment of the web page of Armenian Judiciary (www.armenian-judiciary.am) and first publications of the decisions of the Cassation Court.

D.Khachaturyan is fluent in English and Russian (during 2015-2020, he provided simultaneous interpretation services on these languages to the Council of Europe, United States Embassy in Yerevan, and other organizations).

 

Married, has two children.
